Numerous studies carried out over the years have indicated that the chemicals in our regular deodorants are linked to cancer in some way or another. For example, researchers from the University of Reeding carried out a recent study that found parabens (which are chemicals commonly found in deodorants) in 99% of the breast cancer patients involved in their study. The problem is that this study and others like it haven’t actually shown any conclusive evidence that proves that deodorants are playing a role in the increasing incidence of cancer. It’s a classic example of the correlation and causation problem – does finding parabens in cancer patients prove that those chemicals started the cancer in the first place, or is it just a coincidence that they’re there?

Julia Crawford is a third generation farmer who works and lives on the same land her grandfather bought in 1948 in Sumner, Texas. There has always been wheat, corn and soy growing there, but there has also always been interest from oil companies building pipelines. Until now, the Crawfords have always managed to persuade them to find a way around their land. But TransCanada’s revised Keystone XL pipeline, which would run from Alberta’s Tar Sands to the Gulf of Mexico, plans to go right through this farmer’s land.

We've recently been so inspired from all of the yoga links we've seen on Pinterest that we feel extra-motivated to do yoga, and are also so excited for Spring. One of the best things about Spring is doing yoga outside, so that when you are doing the sun salutation you can actually salute the sun. What many don't realize is that while yoga tends to be regarded as a 'Green' fitness activity, often yoga equipment is not. Many yoga mats are made from PVC, or Polyvinyl Chloride - a pollutant not only known to emit toxins but a substance very difficult to recycle. We are so thankful our marketplace offers so many eco-friendly alternatives made from natural materials. Here are some of our favorite items, perfect for hot yoga, home yoga or anywhere you have room to pose yoga:
