logo_royal_ ecologiqueFor Immediate Release: Monday, June 11th, 2012-The Institute for Green Business Certification (IGBC) announced today that Nettoyeur Ecologique Royal, an eco-friendly dry-cleaning business in Montreal, is the first company in the province of Quebec to pass a comprehensive green audit and achieve the Institute’s “Green Business Certification”.

Nettoyeur Ecologique Royal, owned byMichael P. Kutchuk, provides a complete “wet” drycleaning service using eco-friendly products which do not harm human health or the indoor and outdoor environments, “Our green, “wet”, dry-cleaning – through the use of environmentally-friendly cleaning products – can improve the health of families and their pets by eliminating the chemicals that people breathe, touch and ingest.” Philippa Settels, IGBC’s Eastern Canadian representative, said it is amazing to see clothes being cleaned without the use of harsh chemicals, such as the traditional PERC (perchloroethylene) which has been related to many health and environmental problems. Philippa said she is very pleased that the first Eastern Canadian business to complete IGBC’s green audit and achieve certification is located in her hometown - Montreal, Quebec. “People here are becoming increasingly conscious of the environment and the need to live in a more sustainable and eco-friendlyway – and I’m sure that many businesses in the region will soon follow the example of Nettoyeur Ecologique Royal to gain their green certification,” she said.

IGBC President, Garry H. Peterson, compliments the company for their high standards and commitment to the community’s environmental health and well-being, and he congratulates them for achieving Green Business Certification. “Nettoyeur Ecologique Royal is a leader in the environmental movement and the survival of our world,” Peterson said.

The Institute for Green Business Certification (IGBC) – with offices around the world – is the first international organization of its kind to certify businesses’ environmental practices. It uses a comprehensive Green Audit that is becoming a model for what it means to be a “green business”. The Green Audit evaluates a business in 10 categories including: waste reduction, recycling, reduction in office material usage, purchasing, energy saving, water conservation, pollution prevention, reduction in chemical usage, proper handling of pollutants, and reduced emissions. IGBC’s certification process has been used by small, medium and large companies around the world.

IGBC does not offer or sell products or training courses, and does not charge for its literature. It provides consulting to businesses and organizations regarding environmental management and sustainability. IGBC is accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
