IKEA Plugs-in 4 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Tempe, AZ; Ninth IKEA Store in U.S. to Complete Installation of Units

ikea logo press release 2012TEMPE, Ariz., Mar. 08- IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, today officially plugged-in four Blink Pedestal electric vehicle charging stations at its Tempe, Arizona store as part of its partnership with ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECTY), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies.  This initiative represents the ninth such project for IKEA in the United States, with the eight other locations also in the Western U.S.  To charge an electric vehicle (EV) at IKEA Tempe, drivers pull into a designated parking spot, swipe their Blink InCard (RFID card), plug the charger into the EV, and then shop and eat at their leisure in the IKEA store while the vehicle is charging.  Drivers can get a Blink InCard at BlinkNetwork.com.

IKEA Powers-Up Solar Energy System at Cincinnati-Area Store

IKEA logoWEST CHESTER, OH , Jan. 24- IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, today officially plugged-in the solar energy system installed at its Cincinnati-area store in West Chester, Ohio.  The 128,000-square-foot PV array consists of a 1,026-kW system, built with 4,186 panels.  IKEA West Chester’s program will produce approximately 1,334,300 kWh of clean electricity annually, the equivalent of reducing 1,014 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), eliminating the emissions of 180 cars or powering 115 homes yearly.

ikea-logoSAN DIEGO, Nov. 29- IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, today officially plugged-in three Blink Pedestal electric vehicle charging stations at its San Diego, California store as part of its partnership with ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECTY), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies. This initiative represents the third such project for IKEA in the United States. Installation also is planned at six other IKEA stores in the Western U.S. To charge an EV at IKEA San Diego, drivers pull into a designated parking spot, swipe their Blink InCard (RFID card), plug the charger into the EV, and then shop and eat at their leisure in the IKEA store while the vehicle is charging.
