WWF International marks occasion by honouring Parks Canada with Gift to the Earth award for outstanding conservation achievements 

Ottawa, Ontario, May 19, 2011 -- The Honourable Peter Kent, Canada’s Environment Minister and Minister responsible for Parks Canada today celebrated the 100th birthday of Parks Canada, which was recognized on the special occasion by global conservation organization WWF-International with their prestigious Gift to the Earth award. The award recognizes Parks Canada’s outstanding conservation achievements, including the recent dramatic growth of Canada’s system of national parks and national marine conservation areas.

Toronto, April 14, 2011 — Bullfrog Power, Canada’s 100 per cent green energy provider, and Moneris Solutions (Moneris), Canada’s largest payment processor,  announced today that Moneris is greening the electricity requirements of its Toronto training facility with 100 per cent green power. Adding to its current environmental initiatives, Moneris will green 233 MWh of electricity annually through its agreement with Bullfrog. By choosing green power, Moneris will reduce its emissions footprint and support the development of new renewable energy generation in Canada. Furthermore, with its broad range of stakeholders, including more than 350,000 merchant locations and 1,900 employees across North America, Moneris aims to help create awareness about the importance of renewable power and green energy choices.
