MYEXCLOSETIf you’re looking for vintage items and designer brands at a great price, MYEXCLOSET.COM is a perfect web store that sells pre-owned items in terrific condition. Their idea is to “end the era of disposable clothing” and give clothing owners the satisfaction that their preloved clothes will find a new loving owner, while regaining a portion of what they have paid.

Two featured items:

Jacket-and-Dress

Cassie Cowie started the company with Hayley Dineen while studying at UBC. Living in residence, Cassie realized there was a niche for fashionista’s who had moved to a different style and wanted to sell their unworn clothes that they loved but couldn’t throw out. Cassie proposed to Hayley to launch a site on which you could sell your loved items as well as purchase some. Currently, the company has three branch locations located in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, but they are looking to expand.

If you are interested in purchasing these items or simply in browsing their selection, just go to WWW.MYEXCLOSET.COM. At the moment they only accept Paypal, but shortly they will be accepting Visa and Mastercard. Shipping costs a flat fee of $ 7 across Canada, $12 outside of Canada, with an extra $1.50 per every additional item. Reoccurring items are American Apparel, beautiful dresses, and vintage items. Otherwise they also hold huge brand names such as Vintage Chanel, Betsy Johnson, Burberry, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Philip Lim, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs,  Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Stella McCarthy, Stuart Weitzman, Valentino, and Viktor & Rolf.

The two items I would to buy if I had spare money are these vintage Givenchy shoes for $60 and vintage sweater for $32.

If you want to sell, you can contact the manager at one of the branch locations and make an appointment to drop off items. They are getting picky with the clothes they choose as the site grows, but they primarily want to offer their customers stylish clothes that have been lightly worn and that are in near-perfect condition. You can discuss the price you want to sell your clothing at, keeping in mind that everything on the site is 50/50 consignment.

Don’t hesitate to call one of the managers if you have any questions as they are always looking for something new and unique. Cassie Cowie runs the Vancouver Branch, Hayley Dineen runs the Montreal Branch. Their first location, Toronto, is now managed by Natasha Kulis.
