logoI haven't posted for awhile and have been re-evaluating whether to continue blogging on renewable energy. Call it writers fatigue, or simply questioning if blogging makes a difference, it could be a bit of both. In times that require we stand up as individuals and be aware about how we are taking care of the world and each other, I'm feeling like I need to do more. I think for many people, caring for each other may come more naturally, than caring for the planet. Or maybe it's just that we need to be taught to see the earth again and connect with it's beauty. Must be those video games.

Since the 1800's we've been mesmerized by industry, a trance that has somehow merged into what is now the modern computer age. A spell cast over the world that told us we were not connected to a living organism - the earth - but to television, very shiny money, the almighty automobile, and Hollywood - that told us we were magnificent. We continue to be distracted with our own inventions, somewhat like Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole. We may find that the hole is quite deep indeed, in the coming decades.

Billions are being poured into the pressing emergency that is Haiti -whilst the major economies of the world are still reeling from the market quaking of 2009, all in the face of everyday endlessly persisting issues of hunger and food management that are always with us, in many nations around the world. Will we shift out of simply being prepared for emergencies and crisis to creating the world we envision and know we can achieve. Their are intelligent solutions that are being brought to places that have required our help, solving parts of the problem village by village, family by family. One such solution is E+Co - Energy through Enterprises.

I am brought back to some of what inspired me personally to start this blog over a year ago, and would simply like to share with you the work being done by this organization. They make clean energy investments in developing countries addressing the two 'big ones' - poverty & climate change. Here is their video essay that conveys a vision for the world and the work they are doing. Whether I will continue blogging.......not sure. This is a great organization and I'll be thinking of them this week as I plot my path ahead.
