3106017807_f599ccf65c_zTired of wasting money at overcrowded bars and clubs on New Years? This year host your own New Years Eve or New Years Day party. Here's how to incorporate as many of these Green tips as possible:

-As with any event, aim to be waste-free. Don't buy anything you don't need and make sure what you do buy doesn't come in any excessive, un-resuable/un-recyclable packaging.

-Let your inner Martha Stewart decorate: Use natural decor like  pine-cones, branches to create an elegant, earthy feel. Using mason jars or wine bottles as candle holders is an easy way to create instant elegance.

-Opt for organic wine and stick to a Vegan/Vegetarian menu (Try some of our recipes!)

Tips for hosting a New Years Day party:

-Organize a potluck to avoid beginning a new year stressed and/or overtired.

-Do a clean sweep and host a swap party where you and your friends can trade clothes, or anything else you want to get rid of and maybe find something new for free.

-Organize a day of exercise, adventure or a healthy activity to kick off the new year. Many events rely on alcohol or overeating, so why not find a way to start your new year on a positive note.

What are some green tips/suggestions you have to start your year on a high note? Let us know in the comments!
