- 1 bottle red wine (pinot noir or cabernet work well)
- 12 cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 orange
- Zest the orange, keeping the peel only (not the pith).
- Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and simmer on low for 20 minutes. Do not boil. Add more honey to taste.
- Serve warm, in your great-grandmother’s teacups if possible!
