On June 18th, Airbus 319 made Air Canada’s maiden flight using biofuels. The voyage was planned by the International Civil Aviation Organization to closely coincide with the United Nation Sustainable Development conference in Rio de Janeiro. In an impressive showcase of green transportation efforts, the Canadian plane flew from Toronto to Mexico City using a combination of recycled cooking oil and conventional jet fuel. The mixture of fuel sources is expected to have a significant impact on CO2 emissions. For more information on this visit News24.com Image courtesy of Creative Commons.
