Description: The PurHome X-5 is a High Capacity Whole House Water Filtration System. It begins with an amazing 0.35 micron pre-filter for the finest filtration and crystal clear water (a human hair is about 100 - 200 micron). Next, the water passes through NSF Certified KDF media, a combination of two dissimilar alloys, to remove chlorine over 99%, as well as filter heavy metals like lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals, and extends the life of the carbon stage. KDF also provides a bacteriastatic environment. Most other whole house systems use only carbon. Carbon is a must in water filtration, however, it can be a breeding ground for bacteria over time.
